Shane and Hannah have been in a relationship for more than 6 years now. Shane was born with spinal muscular atrophy and has been using a wheelchair since he was 2 years old.
He met his future wife, Hannah, after she wrote to him online, and the couple has been inseparable ever since.
The couple got married in September 2020, but as their love bloomed, they faced severe criticism because of their "interabled" relationship.
In his interview, Shane revealed that people often think Hannah is his nurse or caregiver and treat him like a child or think he's not able to live a normal life. The couple made a decision to start a YouTube channel and document very diverse moments of their life to help people see that they live their happiest and fullest lives together.
Shane and Hannah's channel now has more than 900,000 subscribers, and as this number is increasing, people have started sharing their thoughts more positively and showing their acceptance. For many people, this duo has become a huge inspiration.
"Their chemistry is just off the charts, and they're so fun to watch. I don't even watch a ton of YouTube, but I started watching them once we got them on board. And they're just so fun to watch, and I love all their videos," said one of their fans in their Zoom interview.
The couple is now living through different moments of their life. They confessed in their interview, that they do argue, just like all couples likely do.
"Hannah and I both have very passionate, stubborn personalities, so if I'm in the mood for pizza, and she's hankering for sushi, you better believe there's going to be a heated debate. I'm slowly learning the important lesson that my girlfriend is always right, no matter what," Shane admitted.
But apart from that, there's so much love and mutual understanding in their family, and no one feels deprived. "I feel for the first time in my life that I'm not a burden because Hannah is wholly there for me and doesn't feel burdened by me," Shane concluded.
